    You will notice that through the site, we refer to the former Immigration and Naturatilization Service (INS) as the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services. The acronym is "BCIS."

    To all friends who contacted us through our online mail form and who continue to do so, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your interest in our work. As you know, the information we have made available through our website benefit many people around the world. However, due to the impressive amount of responses we are getting, we would like to let you know that we are processing mail in the order received. This means that it may take a while to contact each and every one of our correspondents. We apologize for the inconvenience. In addition, the "Questions and Answers" page is being updated to include some topics of general interest, and it will be available soon.

    New Book releases

Law of Asylum in the United States by Deborah Anker of Harvard Law School is now accompanied by a fully up-to-date 2002 Law & Procedures Supplement. Orders are being taken now by the publisher, the Refugee Law Center Inc. (For both the main volume and the Supplement; see ordering information.)

The 2002 Supplement contains all recent case law (substantive and procedural), the latest in asylum, Convention against Torture (CAT) procedures, new rules and instructions on filing deadlines, and otherwise impossible-to-find unpublished decisions.

Program on Women, Program on Children, Program on Health. Contains information concering asylum and immigration law as it relates to these areas of work.
Refugee Forum
A casual place for refugees and asylees seeking news and information concerning legals issues, legal analysis and discussions about refugees and asylees in the United States. The Forum will also provide a space for fellow immigrants to share their past and present experiences and concerns as they adjust to their new lives in their host countries. A questionnaire form is provided below so that you can direct your questions and comments.
