The Program on Women, established in 1994, provides research, legal analysis, and training relating to gender violence and human rights violations of women around the world, particularly for those seeking refugee protection in the United States. RLC also offers legal backup and networking, and in specific cases, amicus support to legal advocates concerned with these issues. Among other things, the program maintains a database of asylum claims being adjudicated throughout the US, compiles country condition documentation specific to women, and collects relevant decisions from the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, as well as other countries.
